Midrolo has a public page for many podcasts, claimed or not. This page says where each fact on those pages comes from, what we never show, and how a show or a person gets something taken down.

Where the facts come from

  • The show's own RSS feed. From the feed Title, description, artwork, episodes and their notes, categories, language, how often it publishes, and the people the feed names (hosts and guests). We read the feed itself, not a copy from a directory, and each page says when it was last checked.
  • Sponsors. From the feed Sponsor reads, promo codes and offers found in the show notes of each episode, by pattern matching and an AI model. Each one links to the episode it came from.
  • Hosting and measurement. Which company hosts the show and which measurement services count its downloads, read from the audio file addresses in the feed.
  • Discovery. We find shows through Podcast Index, Qloo and what people search for here, then read each show's own feed.
  • Numbers from the show. Verified Provided by the show Listener and play numbers appear only once the show's owner claims the page and either invites Midrolo to read them from Spotify for Creators or Apple Podcasts Connect (marked verified) or types them in (marked provided by the show). Every number says where it came from and when.
  • Audience taste. Taste data from Qloo What a show's listeners also like comes from Qloo, only after the owner or a Midrolo member runs a report, and is shown only to signed in members, labelled as Qloo's.

What we never show

  • The owner email in a feed. We use it only to send a code to someone who says they own the show, and we store it encrypted.
  • Anyone the feed doesn't name. People appear only as the feed lists them, with a photo only when the feed publishes one.
  • Ratings or reviews copied from Apple, Spotify or anyone else, and download estimates we made up.
  • Contact details. Brands reach a show through Midrolo, and only once its owner has claimed the page.

Your rights

If a page names you, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it (GDPR Article 14 and similar laws). We reply within 7 days.

  • Remove a podcast's page. Every podcast page has a Remove this page link at the bottom. If you own the show on Midrolo, the page comes down at once. Otherwise we review the request.
  • Remove yourself or your photo. Email [email protected] with the page's address.
  • Stop a show from being added again. A removed show's feed is blocked, so a search or an import can't bring it back. Feeds that set the podcast:block or itunes:block tag are never shown.

Images and caches

Artwork is copied once and served from our storage through Cloudflare. When a page is removed we delete its images straight away, but Cloudflare may keep serving a cached copy until it expires. For anything urgent, email [email protected] and we'll clear it by hand.
