Show notes

In this episode, we welcome Alister McGrath to the show. He is a theologian, Christian apologist, scientist, author, and fellow of the Harris Manchester College at the University of Oxford. He is a vocal critic of “New Atheism” and has debated Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, Christopher Hitchens, Peter Atkins, Stephen Law, and Susan Blackmore. He is also the author of the new book "Rethinking Christianity: A Thoughtful Guide to a Life-Changing Faith”. In this interview, we discuss how he transformed from atheist to Marxist to Christian, why he found the claims of Christianity to be intellectually satisfying, why he started to debate proponents of atheism, the times he was caught flat-footed in debates, why so many young people are considering Christianity, why atheism is incapable of answering the basic and big questions of life, and much more. Let’s get into it…
